For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God.  1 Peter 3:18

Mary and I were married November 21, 1987.  We planned this date because it was right before Thanksgiving and we wanted to spend our first Thanksgiving together in a special place.  After discussing several possibilities we decided to go to Hawaii for our honeymoon.  Although many had told us how beautiful Hawaii was, we had difficulty believing that any place could really be so special.  However, when we arrived we realized that Hawaii really was an incredible place.  In fact, it was so beautiful we decided to return for our 10th anniversary.

For the next 10 years we talked about Hawaii.  Again and again we looked through our pictures.  Each time we remembered how wonderful the trip had been, and remained excited as we made plans to return.  The second trip was even better than the first.  Since we’d been to Hawaii before we knew how wonderful it was.  Plus, we’d anticipated the second trip and shared our joy with others.

Easter is right around the corner.  In just a few weeks we will celebrate the most amazing event in human history.  Some may say that Easter isn’t any big deal.  After all, Easter happens every year.  Yet Easter is always a joyous and special time and it can be special for you every time you celebrate it, if you allow it to be.

Anticipating the wonder of Easter will help make it a special time.  Instead of waiting for Easter Sunday, began preparing your heart now by reflecting on Christ’s amazing gift of life in eternity and joy in the present.  Open your Bible and read of God’s grace.  Then open your heart and receive the message.

You can also make Easter wonderful by sharing it with others.  Go to church every Sunday and celebrate God’s love by worshipping with others who, like you, are seeking the joy of Easter.  Share the Easter message with others who need to hear hopeful news.  Tell them how God has changed your life and then by your actions prove to them that through faith in Christ you are indeed a new creation.
