Disciple Women are gearing up for our Spring membership event, which will include a silent auction....We are hoping to tap the many talents here at Decatur, our own members are a gifted and talented group. If you have a skill or talent you are willing to share please contact Ricky Barnett or Judy Sandlin. We are looking for any handmade items, skills, or services you may offer...Also, if any of you own or work at a business that would be willing to donate an item or service, we would be most appreciative.
We have met many needs since the beginning of the year. This week we prepared 25 Hygiene Kits for Church World Service. These were sent to the Church World Service warehouse in Little Rock to replenish the supply depleted as a result of the earthquake in Haiti. These kits are vital during a disaster. The items we purchased were paid for with funds from our mystery auction in November. We have also met some personal needs of members of the congregation and are making our quarterly donations to the Disciple Missions Fund.
We were very excited about our meeting this past Sunday...the program presented by several of our officers, Mary Muncy and Carole Williams was very special. We had over thirty-five of our women in attendance.
This Sunday, we will hold our annual Bethany Hills bake sale. All proceeds will go to Bethany Hills, our state camp. Please support us with your purchases and donations of baked goods. The sale will be held before and after Sunday School and church. We will have homemade sausage and biscuits prepared by our own Judy Sanders prior to Sunday School. We will also sell individual size servings of brownies and cookies as well as our usual cakes and pies.
Most of all, we covet your prayers as we continue to serve you, the church, community, world and our Lord and Savior.
